I have a new stove coming Tuesday and just discovered that my hard line comes thru the floor in the wrong place. Gas company can come out July 1. Am I correct in my recall that copper gas supply line uses single flares? Thanks,

As a coupling for an extension? Only ever seen 'em with compression fittings, but that's been decades past. Hope someone with more experience can help.

And I'd not want a single "flare" anywhere NEAR a propane line!!! 😉
 
Not sure about US.. but at least European standards use Single Flare compression on Copper gas supply. I just had a new gas line installed for a stove and that is exactly how the connection was made at the regulator side and inside cut off valve.

I could have easily done this by myself... no different than and AC fitting or any other Cu flare but by law almost everywhere this requires a licensed gas tech + pressure test after install for safety cert. Saving a few $$ and exposing myself to a potential risk like that just doesn't make sense.
