decided to lower the new top on my bj7 and have a couple of questions.does the top material fold inside the top bow sections as the top is released and lowered? does the rear window unzip and lay naturally behind the squab. i dont want to damage the newly installed top.. thanks in advance for help.

thanks guys. i have the operator manual but cant tell if the top folds into the top struts or is the top material pulled back out of the struts as they go back and then folded onto the struts?

I keep the window zipped all the time. Since I had my top off for about 5 years I just last summer started folding it to stow the top again and had forgotten the way I did it before. But I believe that I pull the vinyl material to rear ward to keep it away from the tops metal braces while I fold the braces. I do not let it get scissored between the braces. I do not have a squab but if I pull it like I mentioned the vinyl will drop down mostly vertical as if it would be behind the squab. The metal braces will pretty much fold down unto themselves with no vinyl trapped between them. Dave.

thanks dave. that was what i was thinking...keep the window and the top material out of the struts/braces as much as is possible.
