while i am pulling the cross member and updating everything i have thought to put in lower springs on my 78 B. who has done this and is it even worth it. Moss sells the spring but im sure other parts are needed. do you notice a difference in the handling. remember i am 22 and probably don't mind a rougher ride. :eeek:
 
The bump-stops may need to be trimmed.
 
You have to either modify the bump stop or replace it with a lowering bump stop. Ride is not bad at all and the handeling is a big improvement over stock. Perfect time to swap out all your front end bushings to poly as well.
 
If you lower it, also install the CB shock links as their shorter and will prevent the shock from traveling to far on a hard bump.
So,
New springs or lowering blocks. 1 inch.
CB bump stops.
CB shock links. Your in!

Don't forget about the front end to match!
 
i have the poly bushing set from moss and figure i should swap about anything i can get my hands on as well as por 15 on the a frame and cross member. Lowering it does not sound like a bad job thank for the help.
 
Its a very easy job if everything comes right out. If you run into rust welded bolts the fun really begins. Have all new hardware on hand before you start and start soaking everything in pb blaster now. For the front you are going to want the 550# springs. The rear may have sagged so much you may not need anything or you can add the lowering block kit that moss sells.
 
i was planing on replacing bushings but decided that i could use new springs. Right now im struggling with the anti roll bar conecti0on. i cant get them off. days of pb showers and twisting have not helped. im about ready to cut it out. possibly bad idea
 
cut it off and replace. Replace the other side while your at it as the rubber is most likely shot. Also check your a arms and make sure the outer hole isn't ovaled.
 
im glad it was not that bad of an idea. all rubber needs to come off any thing in the car hoses leave black crap all over the place, a bushing "popped" as we were leaning on the side of the fender. thats why i decided do the suspension now. :eeek:
