Lovely to See You Again!

Breath deep, the gathering gloom.

I've seen them....and they sound great live.

Justin Hayward's little guitar riff in ~Ride My Seesaw~ is one of my all time favourites.

And their song, ~Go Now~ (sung by Denny Laine, who later started Wings with P. McCartney) is another Moody song I really like.

Ray Thomas always reminded me of a rock-and-roll Basil Fawlty.

My all-time favorite group! I always thought their stuff had much more depth, both music and lyrics, than other groups.

I've seen them live several times - always a wonderful show, and they still sound like they did 40 years ago (at least to me).

If you ever have the chance to see them, don't miss it. Also, if your PBS station ever broadcasts it, they did a concert at Red Rock, Colorado (I think that's the name). Outstanding. Might be able to find it on YouTube...

Oh yeah, and Justin Hayward did the music on "War of the Worlds", an album back in the late seventies or early eighties, with Richard Burton doing the narration. Great soundtrack. "Forever Autumn" - fantastic song!

These guys were the first band I ever got into deeply -- a real refreshing change from the 80s dreck I grew up with. I've seen them 3 times, once with the Utah symphony. Good stuff, great harmonies, and really interesting compositions.

My first electric guitar (a horrible Gibson ES 335 knockoff) was because that's what Justin Hayward played.

My pops favorite band, he seen them like a dozen times. I listened to them by osmosis and really find them a great band and own a lot of their albums.

Basil,

Surprised that you weren't watching
"Carriers" on PBS.
