I just picked up the Beatle's "LOVE" CD, as heard in the Cirque du Soleil show. George Martin and his son have done a masteful job re-mixing many of the classics. There ar 26 songs total nad some of them will blow you away! The remix of Get Back is my favorite. The intro mixes teh drum solo from Abby Road, with Get Back and the result is amazing!

Then there is the remake of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" that is completely fresh and different. I highly recommend this CD if you're a Beatles fan (and even if you're not it might make one of you). Its the Beatles like you've never heard them!

Just FYI, the DVD in the special edition is an audio DVD, no video. Unless you have a reeeely high end stereo a complete waste of money.

Basil, if memory serves, the Martins used the "acoustic" backing track for While My Guitar Gently Weeps, correct? The full, unadultarated version of that song is on one of theAnthologies, either two or three. I've always felt it was superior to the released "electric" version.

If you can find it, George Harrison's Live in Japan disc features a storming version of this song, with George Formby reprising his lead guitar role. (The Live in Japan set was originally recorded with EC's backing band-Clapton had been touring Japan and talked George into doing a couple of shows.)
