Louvered Bonnet Valuation

Interested in opinions of the value of an original 100M louvered bonnet. Yes, it is from one of the 640 100M models. The car was written off long ago, but its original steel bonnet is in excellent condition and would need only match-paint and fitting. Bear in mind that the louvered bonnets that you can buy from any of several sources are aluminum.

So what do you say it's worth?

Hey Reid,
Pass on the body number on the bonnet to Bill Meade at 100M Registry so he can be on the look out for a "barn find 100M" that suddenly surfaces ! On the value, Bill told me one time he thought an original bonnet on a factory 100M added at least $5000 in value, besides being one of the main pieces for the certification of one.
Regards,
Mike

I've heard of jacking up chassis plates and sliding a car underneath them. With the 100M prices these days, just think what they could do with a genuine 100M bonnet.

The thought also occurred me as something that someone could try. They have reconstructed 100Ss from as little, but they also have a registry that keeps track of that sort of thing

Already done!

Interesting, but this is a little different as it is not a confirming item for an existing car, but is instead the only remaining piece. I'd happily take $5000 for it if I could overcome the guilty conscience that would haunt me, but I'd rather not make that big of a withdrawal from the Karma Bank.

Thanks though!

If there is an M out there in need if a bonnet, $5k would be a small price to pay. I've seen crazy prices for original cobra parts.
