Lousey hyd. hose

Does Moss make a better hose (Master to clutch slave) than VB does ? My hose popped off its barb fitting on the slave cyl. and left me in the middle of Denver traffic with no clutch. Why in heck don't they put some kind of fitting on both ends of this plastic hose rather than just leaving it to the barb alone to hold on to. I dont think they make a hose clamp this small. Any suggestions ? I ordered Moss's but Iam waiting for it to arrive. Hope its better than VB's
Thanks
Don M

That really doesn't sound right. I would want something crimped at the barb(s). At least a hose clamp.

Don't think they make one for a 79 Midget, Jeff.I see it for prior years but not the 70's. Anybody know where I can get one for a 79 ?
Thanks

You could get one made. I have a Datsun A15 engine in my Bugeye and when the hydraulic line went south I brought it in to a hose shop and they made me a custom hose for $25. Granted, this was just a stock rubber hose replacement, so a stainless one will be more expensive, but if nobody sells one for your car this might be the only way to go.

Try this:

Paragon Performance
P.O. Box 143
Lake Arrowhead, CA 92352
1-800-270-0333

When I changed to a 210 trans (rivergate), I had to use some adapters to transition from the sprite clutch to the Datsun slave. I didn't like that set-up so I sent the whole mess to Paragon with instructions on what I wanted - a single braided steel line with appropriate ends for the sprite master, and the datsun slave. Ask for the return of the original line. About a week later, and $46.00 I had a shiny new line that fit perfectly.

The hose from Moss is my choice of the two. It at least is crimped at both ends where the one from VB is just pushed onto a barb with no other form of support and it will pop off when you least expect it. It appears it may be glued(?)on. Wonder who thought that one up...
Thanks guys,
Don M
