How does he get in reverse so fast?
Is there such a thing as a syncro reverse?

I have to push in the clutch and count thousand-three.
 
maybe? I was browsing through the google videos for Lotus Sevens, and that video came back as a 'Locost' replica of a Seven. Maybe he only really put it into reverse once or twice and just let the car's momentum carry it backwards once the front and rear swapped ends?
 
Nonooo.. Brake hard enuff to lock up the rear wheels (clutch IN obviously), or handbrake while sideways (in transition), and "snick" it right into reverse. I tried to watch him as he made the transitions and it appears he's just using the foot. It's a real dance, that. Very smooth. I'd LOVE to see what some other entrants' times were.
 
Had to watch it again! That just tickles me chitless.

He's using the footbrake only.

oh i hope you guys have more videos!!! those all were great....makes me wanna get rid of the tr6 and make some type of insane 7 ......hehe

Do a few searches. Google video is the safest at the moment, but you also have Yahoo (my favorite if you leave on the parental controls), and Alta Vista....

Probably a few others.
