Lotus APX...

Yeah its a neat idea. This was just to show that Lotus Engineering (not Lotus Cars) could put together a complete car using their VVA and still use it in different engine layouts and final car designs. Really quite smart. Lotus is not planning to make this car in the least but i would really like to see more of that engine!!

And Lotus has done consulting work for far more auto makers than listed above. Many of the projects they take on for other manufacturers is kept secret and people just end up enjoying the final product, never knowing Lotus' influence on the car. Lotus Engineering is the only reason we still can get Lotus cars...

I dare not disagree with that statement. I recall an Isuzu from the late 80's/early 90's that proudly wore a badge "Suspension by Lotus" .... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif they have some bright people working for them.

... lotus and isuzu!

The DeLorean has been called the bastard child of Lotus engineering.

Colin Chapman's staff designed the whole frame & suspension within JZD's peculiar parameters.

One test driver for Lotus said he had never experienced snap over-steer that extreme.
He said it felt like he was in a centrifuge & his eyes were going to pop out.

Although chicks dig it because it has funky doors. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

That Lotus shoe must never have pushed a 930 Porkchop around the track... random end swap was "thrilling" with those as well.

Do ya think th' chicks would dig it if'n I rolled up in a Brick-lin? ~it~ has funky doors too. Heavy, funky AMC hardware doors. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hateful vehicle. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

I think it's the shiny stainless steel that wins the bling award for the chicks... The doors are just gravy on top!

Nice hat(s).

Thanks! I'll go back to the "regular" siggy tomorrow.
