Posted this over on the Lotus forum but it doesn't seem very active...
I have a 1973 TR6 and I'm looking for replacement parts for the carbs on my car. All TR6s came with Stromberg CD 175 carbs and the vast majority (including mine) had adjustable metering needles. My understanding is that the earlier CD 175s had non-adjustable metering needles.
I found someone selling a pair of CD 175 carbs "off of a 70's Lotus" but that's about all he/she knows. I need the carbs I purchase to have have adjustable metering needles like the carbs that I have today because one of the parts I need is the metering needle adjuster as well as the air valve it fits into.
Anyone know if I'm safe to buy CD 175 carbs "off of a 70's Lotus" or is there a chance they will be the old-style non-adjustable carbs?
