Lost my sister to the dark side

Well she'd been talking about it for some time now and this weekend she finally took the plunge.

We'd been talking about getting her out of her beat-up 01 T-top Firebird (V6 & manual) into something else a little more sporty and she gave me a list of her choices & I made my recommendations on each as well as other cars she might consider.

Her choices included:
Solstice
BMW Z4
Mazda MX5

I suggested that she seeing as this’d be her daily driver that she might want to consider something a little more practical a couple of coupe/convertibles to her list just for comparisons sake to see if a sporty roadster is what she really wants.

I recommended a few different vehicles but she only liked the following from my list and actually gave them a look see before totally going back to her original choice:

Pontiac's G6 convertible. (think: 2-dr coupe with 2+3 seating and a retractable hard-top)
BMW 328 convertible with 2+2 seating.

Anyway fast forward to this weekend she ended up bringing home a Z4 & all I can say is OMG! Is my sister such a blonde! <brother his rollseyes>

Bright Red & an automatic /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/pukeface.gif (she likes the lame-O shifter paddles) And as if that wasn’t bad enough she got totally screwed on her trade (could’ve gotten twice as much to a private party) in and was racked on her lease & financing. She’s going to owe a small fortune when the lease is up.

Oh well. Big bro tried to help out but she totally ignored all my thoughts & suggestions and walked into the dealership with her check book in her teeth.

Is she happy with her deal?

Been there - done that - all I can say is keep your mouth shut! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/whistle.gif otherwise no good can come of it - don't ask me how I know /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif

Smile and say: "Nice car, sis."

...then run before she sees ya hurl.

Then remind her of the 3 day right to rescind law.....or something like that

That's a good question that only time will tell.

Truth is she surprised me when she bought her first new (fire engine red) Firebird back in 1995. I swore up & down that she'd hate it with in a couple of months. What'd she end up doing? She bought another one back in 2001.

So since they don't make Firebirds anymore - she's stuck looking at other options.

Enter the Zed-4.

A friend of mine went to the dark side as well...

BMW Z4 also except, a silver 5 speed.

She had been talking TR6 & I encouraged her in every way.

Alas....She went for the 'axis of evil car'
