That stuff is awesome!
The only thing the instructions don't tell you, is how quickly the goo hardens. Anyway, it was my first time, and the Midgets first time...

One more coat and a good buffing, should be good.

Might I ask exactly what "stuff" you used? I'm assuming it was a kit. My little car is in need of some hole filling...
Thanks

You may...
I just bought 'the Bondo starter kit', a starter for $15 or something, I did also purchase, which wasn't included in the kit, a file, tack cloth and extra patches.
The kit contains, sandpaper, primer, filler, cream hardener, putty, a patch, mixing plate, spatula, popsicle stick and a set of instructions, which on this occasion, I followed to the letter.
The patches I put on the inside of the holes, I think the instructions suggest putting them on the outside, but that didn't seem right.

Heh... Frank has quite a few dings. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
Considering that Frank is never going to be "concourse" I don't know what exactly is holding me back.
So do you need to remove the paint first or just 'rough it up' a bit?

I removed the paint with a drill with a wire brush attached, that thing also roughs it up a bit.

Always remove the old paint down to the bare metal before applying body filler. Preferably with a 36 grit disk. If you put it over paint, it can only adhere as well as the paint. You will not know until it blisters or cracks later. Also allow it to age for a few days before final primer and finishing, because it can shrink. Never thicker than 3/32". We've all seen it done wrong and that's why it has a bad reputation. Done properly, it will last as long as car. I've put in more than a just a gallon or two in my lifetime.
I do not like the Bondo brand, Rage is my favorite, but it's been around awhile, so there may be some better ones around.

Just to add two cents worth... Duraglass is, in my opinion, a superior product to Bondo, but most brands are not all that different anyway, and an invisible repair speaks for itself!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

"All-metal" made by US Chemical & Plastics is all I've used for years. Duraglass would be my next choice. On metal cars, of course. Frozen snot cars are a whole diff'rent animal.

If I feel that I have to use the stuff, I prefer the fiberglass filler. Little harder to work with but stronger and no shrinkage. And stay away from that long strand filler stuff!

I keep looking at that rear valance on your car without the bumper and I really want this look.
