ahhhh

how loose should the shaft going in to the transmission be?
how do you seal it at the front??
my mechanic said its too loose

we actually found a waffle transmission on a Sunday night but it was for a morris and the fork pivot was on the wrong side. and it was so locked up we couldnt tell what the spec for that opening is,

it should be pretty snug if its a 1275 tranny.......
there really shouldnt be any sideways movement,
everything is to precision in there.....z

it looks like the oil leaked out over the winter and I dove it about 7 miles to the shop. it is moving back and forth a little

ahhhh the one thing i was confident on this car
steve

a short drive low on oil\wont ruin it......
if it works ok just take the clutch bearing
area off and tighten the big nut inside......z
