TR6 Loose wheel nuts after torquing

Yesterday I'd had a stock (steel) wheel off to check something on the left rear brake. Installed it with 70 lb ft torque. Manual recommends 60 - 80 lb ft.

Today the same wheel was loose - most of the nuts had loosened to a few lb ft.

Today I re-torqued to 100 lb ft - more than the recommended 75 - 85 lb ft for a 7/16" stud.

Is there something special about these wheels? Is this a known problem?

Do I need to clean the studs and use loctite on them?
