Loose rear view mirror

One of the few little projects left my TR6 is a loose cockpit rearview mirror. It vibrates and shakes like Charo on the Johnny Carson show. I looked at the mirror and can't figure out a way to snug it up. It appears there isn't enough resistance on the swivel ball. I can't figure out how the mirror is held into the frame. Is there a way to pop the mirror out without breaking it so I can access the ball mounting and perhaps snug it up?

Couchi-Couchi on your dashboard? I'd leave it alone; it's a mod.

If the ball mount is similar to a mirror mount, then there is a plastic cone that rides against the ball to give it both resistance and movement. Is there a single screw on the backside of the mirror that you can tighten?

Drop the whole assembly with the 2 screws holding onto your window frame. With the assembly in hand, tighten the Phillips screw holding the mirror itself. Much easier to do it this way than to try and get a driver between the mirror and the window glass. Then just snug it back up.

I concur tighten all screws first, I purchased a new mirrow because of the same symptoms and all I had to do was tighten the screws on the existing one, but didnt figure that out till I took the old one off, lesson learned Again, start with the simple things first and work up

Yup, the screw was it. It must have loosened and I forgot that it was even there. While I was at it and had the mirror assembly unmounted, I put a dab of teflon lube on the ball to make it easier to adjust. I'm not gonna miss the whole lotta shake'n one bit! Thanks to all that replied!
