Looks like I am going to own a Midget

This will probably be an interesting experience. I am buying a 1974 Midget and know nothing about MG's. Tony Barnhill was good enough to give me some of his thoughts but other than that about all I know about this car is that the top folds and it has four wheels.

I got into this by accident, just like I got into my TR6. Although I did know something of Triumphs, Now having had 4 of them, the first in 1965.

The guy that owned this car was restoring it and died before it was finished. A good friend of his and mine helped out his widow by taking it off her hands. My friend is a Mopar collector and not interested in British cars. I went to look at it to help him find a buyer and decided to just buy it myself.

These are some pics that I took and give some idea what I am up to. There is a lot of dust on it from sitting.
Clicking on the thumbs will bring up the pics.

I have a couple of current projects that need finishing, retirement is beginning to make working seem easy.

Tom, looks like you've got a great start there. Should make a nice car with not too much work left to finish it up. I think you'll like driving the Midget, unlike any other British car. They are just so much fun.

Looks like a nice, clean shell. Welcome to Spridgetdom!

Conmgrats, Tom....keep us posted on your progress.

Ah, looks like nice, solid RWA Midget.

G'luck!

The deal has been made and I plan on picking it up next week. I have to get a trailer lined up so I can haul it home, about 160 miles round trip.

Until I get a good thorough look at I won't know what I have but I am getting more excited about the project.

Man, you gotta love those "some assembly required" cars!

Keep us posted.
