Does anyone have a spare air intake duct for a bugeye laying around in their parts stash? I have one on back order with VB but it looks like it will be at least a month. By the looks of the illustration, maybe you could fabricate one from some sheet metal, tubing and a little welding - something to get you going until you get the one on B.O.

If you don't have the tools a local metal fab shop may help.

Maybe its more complicated than it looks!!
 
Naa wait for the backorder one, its not important, is just the tube mount for the heater. Heck you don't need a heater yet anyway.
 
Just temporarily, you could go to Home Depot and by some alum. dryer ducting (you could paint it flat black to look more correct!) until the correct part arrives.

I left the large black hose duct out, makes it hard to see the engine and work in there as well. I expect that I can add one in 5 min or less if necessary.

No one will notice but you Ben, shoot I had folks ask if the fan blower was a turbocharger. gesh.
 
Oh yes, I understand. Just leave the bracket and the hose off for the show. Not a problem, heck you do want a good one so it must be new really.

I'm probably not going to bother putting a heater in the Tunebug -- had one from the factory but it was removed by a PO many years ago. Nice to have a little more room to work under that bonnet anyways.

Not really, since once it gets that cold the Tunebug will be safely ensconced in the garage. They salt the heck out of the roads here, so once it's cold enough to really need a heater, I'll be buried under the snow.

Besides, that's what wool socks and a good warm jacket are for! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
