I am hunting the parts that go under the tail lights of a chrome bumper Midget. I am doing a racer look MGB LE (see BCF MG) I would like to graft these parts onto the "B" from a junker Midget! I have Midget parts that I could trade or cash. Bob
Bob, I thought the parts were available from Moss (maybe someone else) for the B.
Or are you just looking for used stuff? I don't think the size / shape is exactly the same from a Midget to a B otherwise Midget 1500 guys would be buying the B parts to do the same thing.
I am looking for chrome bumper midget parts. They taper to a point at the bottom. I am not just doing a chrome bumper conversion. I will not have any bumpers. I also do not want the fiberglass sebring rear valance that moss sells. Its all metal on my cars...And a bit of bondo! Bob
Ah - I did not realize the part from Moss was not metal.
Do you care how "nice" the bits are? Obviously you would prefer no rust but - if you're not picky then there is usually someone about to send a car to the crusher who will cut those parts off and mail them out.
How hard would it be to take those bits and create a form and then make castings? Anyone here have experience with that kind of work? There's a lot of 1500 owners who might like to remove the bumpers and fill in under their tail lights.
I can work with some rust at the bottoms. I am kinda expecting that since the cars are getting old. If anyone is parting a early midget let me know! Bob
Not sure what you are looking for? Do you mean the complete one piece assembly that the Lenses attach to? Basically a chrome rim going to the top with an angled base at the bottom with a complete chrome pot metal back side?
Might have a set from the 65
I need the part that is below the tail lights. It will need to be cut off with a sawzall. From the bottom of the tail lights to the bottom edge of the car and if possable all the way across the back of the car. I will try to post a pic of what I am looking for soon. I am heading back to where my new Midget project is today. Just have to remember the camera! Bob
I've got some bits cut off under the lights but not across the back of the car.
Now if you wanted a 63 MK1 Midget mostly complete (no floors) I could help you there.
