I have a set of 175 Michelins on my 100 and like their appearance (and the extra 1/2" or so of ground clearance) that comes from the tall aspect. As of last summer they were unavailable from the supplier, Coker, and I do not know whether they went back into production. If you are on the East Coast you cannot do better than contacting Hendrix Wire Wheels for your tire/wheel needs.

I put Cooper 205 70 R15s on my 62BT7. They look great to me and roll fine. Had to remove about 1/8" of inside front fender seam (at bottom where fender and shroud join). No rubbing anywhere. Spare doesn't exactly fit in trunk.
 
I just got off the phone with British Wire Wheel and he said that Verdestein quit making the S rated 185/70 tire and have gone to the H rating which raised the price from $80 to $115 each. Will the 165r15 tire fit properly in the trunk or do you need to go to a 155 size tire?

165r15's fit in the trunk fine. I think they are very close to the original diameter .. maybe a bit shorter.

Fitting spares in the boot can be a problem with the wider tires.However, I only buy four of the wider ones and keep a near original size tire;165 X 80 X 15 as the spare. Since it is a spare this is OK IMOP. Contastingly, the near original sized tires do not contribute to improved handling or ride comfort, so the 185 X 70 X 15 tires I keep on the ground---Keoke
 
Just put a set of the $30 Kuhmos on a TR4A with wires. They look like the orginal's to me. At that price I can change them out every year. Tire Rack had them to me in two days.

I spread the LBC around. Have at least one of each make. Have a 67 GMB 3000 that is in progress but it may be a while before it gets to look like yours!
 
don't bank on them 165s fitting in the trunk. Mine rubbed just a bit, but made the lid look torqued to me. So I downsized to a vredestein 155/15 and now have room to spare. I've considered renting it out as a studio apartment.
 
This is starting to look better. Ive got 185/70s but would like to "improve" gearing for fast road use. (Ive already got a 3.54 diff) I want a slightly higher rolling radius than 185/70 Any ideas? and no I dont want 185 x 15. I think they look awful. Jags used tu use 205/70 r15. anyone tried these?
