We got the first coat of green on my TR8 and it is just not a original as I was hoping, I really like hte color but I am lookng for something to make it stand out a little and I thought of the little lemans Tr that The-Roadstery-Factory has and was thinking of possible painting the bulges on the hood yellow in the same mode (see attached and imagine the bulges that color yellow. I really like the idea as does my son , but it seems to make my daughter want to puke. opinions?

What about a stripe al la Cobra/Mustang down the center instead? Pretty brash, but I think it might work better than "just" the bonnet accents?

I agree with Yank and tdskip, I would tone it down to a stripe.. possibly offset a little to one side.

Now if it's a track car, different story all together.

Keep it simple. You have all the subtlety of a hammer under that bonnet. Since you have a non-stock color, perhaps a discreet hand-painted accent stripe on the sides to compliment the curves of the car. Then add a really raucous exhaust system to get yer heart a-pumpin.

Do you have any opinions on your OWN car yourself? Don't you think you should paint it the color(s) that YOU would like it to be.

I love the Green, but I guess I just am not all that subtle cause I figured if I slept on it I might talk myself out of it but I woke with the same like. My FHC was Sunburst Orange Metallic so it was not all that subtle either.

I guess I can always paint over it if I do not like it.

I vote for clear coated black, shiny as all heck, with really nice thin bright red accent stripes to set it off.

Paint it what you like. A tip from the miestro, go get some all white cheap paper in a roll. Draw and cut any design you like,SOAK it and put it on you painted car.Instant designs in any form you like. Its like wall papering. When and if you get the one you like, trace it and tape it and paint it.

This is why I am the best in the biz, ....grace and humility.

In the wedge world that would be known as a TR7 Spider. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
It does look good though.

Well, there ya go!

I'm still stuck in 6'er world, so I'm not up on the advances made after 1976. Lack of product knowledge is a terrible thing.....

No worries Paul, The spyder is like the second rarest wedge from the factory. But the wedge does look good in Black. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Good call on that one.

If ya need a reasdon to bail on the BRG/yellow combo: It was Lotus Racing livery for quite a while. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif
