looking for rear end gears for bj8

Dan Lempert is responsible for ordering the 354 gear sets. The last message received from Dan was last November...

Yes, the February date is correct and I have recently followed up and received another confirmation that everything is on track for February. So barring any issues unforeseen, it looks like we'll be getting the sets then.

Best,
Dan

I will email Dan again and see if the gear sets remain shipping in February.

I e-mailed him last Monday and so far no response. Normally I'm not a pest about delivery on things but the restoration shop that is working on my car is at the point they want to put the rear end and driveshaft back in. If the gears were going to be here within a few weeks I would try to put them off.

Why do I have this feeling they will be putting this all back together, then in a month or so I'll be pulling it all apart again? Of course, this wouldn't be all bad because it would mean the gears would actually be here

I really hate to have to be negative here, but I have to concur with RF Thom about the poor responses from the US source you are all talking about. I too waited for over 3 years, also renewed my check with them to make sure the gears were coming. Had absolutely no responses unless i made multiple phone calls. From this current thread all the excuses I'm hearing are identical to what I heard when I did get to talk to them. Do you realize your post are in response to the same order that I put in over 5 years ago. I don't know whats going on with them and I am sorry it is the way it is, but don't go there.
Last year I ordered 3:54:1 gears from Dennis Welch, UK and got them within about 2 weeks.

Not to sound too negative here, but if you don't get customer service to your satisfaction before the sell, what can you expect after the sell?

dan cashed my check and sent an e mail, stating that they SHOULD be ready end of February or at lest mid march due to manufacturing delays. i would have went with manufacturing in japan, but thats just me. american companies seem to always have an excuse for missed delivery dates.

Any word from Dan on this? It is now end of March.

The last time I heard from him was toward the end of January stating the above (end of February or mid March).
