Looking for new tires

Interesting about the Vredsteins. I guess they have a 'classic' blackwall (Sprint Classic) for 165R15, which looks very vintage. However, the universal website lists what appears to be a more modern looking 165R14 (Sprint +). They do have a Sprint Classic 185/14, but the aspect ratio of that tire is probably too tall for an MGB, (I've heard its about 80% on metric sizes) else that'd be the winner for me.
 
Geez, the 185/70 for B's especially later ones is pretty standard fitment these days. I am surprised your local shops had not been aware of that. That being said, The aftermarket American racing rims on the GT sit out wider and I do get some rub in the rear. Not the tires fault however.
