Looking for Mag Wheel Lug Nuts

I have a '67 Sprite with a set of old Appliance slotted mag wheels. I'm looking for lug nuts. 5 would work, 16 would be great! It's the standard 3/8x24 thread, but the shank needs to be 1/2" outside diameter. Most everything out there is wider. Moss, Victoria, Mini Mania and yes, The Guy ON E-Bay has the wider version. Probably to fit current Minilites, etc.

The nuts that I have use a 5/8" socket and are stamped Spitfire, Sprite, Midget on the sides.

I guess I could drill the holes larger in the Mags, but I really don't want to do that as they're original.

Checked a couple of classic restorer shops nearby and a tire guy that's been in business since the 60's. No luck.

Suggestions?

Ran into this problem with my Appliance wheels on my GT6. Took the wider wheel nuts to the machine shop and had them turn them down to size. I too did not want to drill out the holes.

Try Pack Racing Products. They have a website, but you should call them on that. I have gotten some MG lug nuts from them before. They sell varoius alum wheels.

Think I might have some 11/16"? (USED, but not stripped)

Would they work?

Steve

You say the thru holes in the wheel are 1/2"? With a 3/8" diameter stud that's only 1/16" wall thickness (per side). I also have a set of these same style wheels with the ½” (roughly 17/64”) hole thru. After a bit of a search the simple thing will be to open up the holes to except the current diameter of stem on the lugs available. It’s a safe thing to do given the thickness of the wheel. Sorry I couldn’t give an answer as to where to find them but after facing the same challenge it started me thinking maybe the size was increased for safety reasons along the way?

I think the size was increased so the same diameter lugnutcould blank be used for both 3/8 & 1/2" Thus the same wheel could be used as well on 3/8 or 1/2" cars.

I'm thinking of having a set of nuts turned.

Thanks for the offer Steve. I do appreciate it.

Give up trying and send the wheels to me instead.
