Looking for Long Lost BJ-7

HealeyRick started a post today on why we own Healey's and the question got me thinking about my first Healey and I got curious if it is still out there on the road. It was a '63 BJ-7 that my dad bought in '64 and I drove through high school. I do not have the VIN but it had a couple distinguishing marks inflicted by a 16 year old kid! It was a silver blue car originally bought in north Texas, I think I remember from my dad, but the distinguishing feature at the time was I cut holes in the basic structure of the foot wells to install stereo speakers. Had to be able to blast my 8-track! It also had a patch in the right rear floorboard where the spring snapped when I went over a railroad track! I sold the car before I went to college in about 1978 or '79.

I suspect both of these issues have been fixed long ago if it is still on the road but just wondering if anyone recognizes this car from this vague description and could let me know where it ended up!

It would be a long shot but this car was sold in Texas to the previous owner in CA around that time (before me). Its a 63' BJ7. The patch over the spring in the rear made me think that maybe its the car you are looking for... Any additional info would help identify the car. When I bought it there were stereo holes in the rear panel as well.

Regards,

Andrew

Andrew,
Thanks for the response. I am looking at my mothers house for any more info on her but so far, no luck. When we sold it, the tags were Texas CQB-769 and it had a factory hardtop. I have tried looking for old license plate info from Austin but again, no one seems to know how to find any info that old. I realize someone recognizing this car from my vague description would be a miracle, but thought I would try. THat car brings back good memories for me and is the reason I have the one I have now. I just hope it is still on the road and someone else is having half as good time and memories I had with it.
