Thanks! I've now heard from people coast-to-coast, so it seems we got the January issue into members' hands in December -- the USPS came through! February issue proofs will be ready Monday (January 2), so we're on track for on-time (or even early) delivery of that issue too. Good fun. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Yes that is what he said. However, he may be a dealer and his reply just may be on the up & up. Regarding 40 year old healeys I have never seen one that did not rquire some body work.---Fwiw-Keoke

They're pretty much all restored, one way or another, at this auction. This is about the last place I would recommend that a rank-and-file enthusiast go to buy a car.

I was there last year and will be there again this year, but NOT to buy -- just to soak up the atmosphere, enjoy the cars, watch the circus, and write a little article for the mag. It's great entertainment and I recommend it highly as entertainment. It's just not a place where I would buy a car. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonod.gif

You also can't use the Black/gold plates unless the car is currently registered,or on a Non-Operational status.
If you buy a car with Black/Gold plates that the registation has expired on,they want you to turn in the old plate(s),& get new ones.

As a lurker from the Triumph list, I'm going to disagree here... I registered my '59 TR3A, w/ original black plates with absolutely no problems from CA DMV, early in '05. This car hadn't been registered since '84, and there was no pressure from them to update to reflective plates. A simple request in writing to keep the original plates was all it took... maybe I was lucky!

since i have been fooling around with my car for about 15 years it has done more sitting than driving i would sugest getting one from a club member and having all the major work already done or your going to spend a fortune in a shop.try to find a complete car the only problem is that these cars cost so much money now. if i could find a restored car that i can afford i would try to do that good luck
 
Any thoughts on the following two cars on ebay? Price, shape or wait for a club member with a lead. thanks
