I bought a short block for the GT,now I need to find an affordable way
to get it from Grass Valley,CA to Roanoke ,or near Roanoke - I can pick it
up if necessary. It will be strapped to a pallet.
Or,if someone's coming from the Sacramento area, this could help you pay
for your trip.
Anyone have ideas,or suggestions?

Doug - instead of shooting in the dark, why not ask the person you bought it from how to get it shipped?

He suggested U ship, but I want to see if there are other options.

I use Netparcel.com - IIRC they give a variety of shipping choices

good luck

The last time I bought a block (about six or seven years ago) I had it shipped by Fastenal freight, they dropped it off at the local Fastenal. When I arrived they loaded it into the back of my pickup for me. It was a painless process.

uship.com. You fill out the info, and companies bid on your business. I have used this site 3 times. Once was an engine.

They only ship to the Western US.

I'll check uship.com after I get the weight & dimensions.
Does anyone have a rough idea of the weight of an MG short block?
