Stag Looking for a Stag

My Dad bought a Stag in Texas in 1986 and spent the next 10 years restoring as he drove it. Just looking to see if the owner is on here and trade some history on the car for some more pics. That car was always around as I was growing up and I have fond memories of it.

The Stag is a 73, overdrive, Pimento Red, black interior, factory mag wheels, stainless exhaust, cloth soft top. When he did the full restoration on it in 94? he rebuilt the trans, put on NOS heads, fresh chrome, factory stripe kit, etc. The car went to nationals in 95? in North Carolina? and got second I believe. The only distinguishable mark I can remember is underneath the car on the gas tank you can see an epoxy repair and an msd electronic ignition under the hood on the firewall.

We sold it to a guy when we were in Atlanta who had just totalled his XKE. He wasn't from there and drove it home across the country. Let me know if your on here or owned this car at one time, I know its a shot in the dark. It really was oneof/the nicest Stag in the country in the mid 90's and I would love to hear about what's happened to it. At least they only imported 2500...Jake

Welcome, Jake! I lived in CC as a kid - first in Windsor Park, then over on S. Alameda, just next to the Oso. Great city!

For help with the Stag, you might try these folks: UK Stag club.

Or, on this side of the pond, you can contact one of our forum members, Glenn Merrell, member name StagByTriumph: send him a private message, or here's the website:

Hey Mickey,
I and 90% of the US Stag club old board are no longer affiliated with the US Stag club, having resigned in June 2009 and August 2009 respectively. That club is now owned and operated privately by the original founder.

"THE" web site for information is TriumphStag.net, the web site I have run since late 2006 created by David Redfern and myself in Late 2000. It is open to all Triumph Stag enthusiasts regardless of club affiliation or car ownership.

Jake, I can be reached directly at StagByTriumph@triumphstagclub.org for questions.

Cheers!
