I'm looking for a Lucas 45d4 distributor. Anybody have one willing to sell, give, or barter. Thanks! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Brian, I looked at the MGB catalog from VB, and they have them, but they're pricey. About 200 bucks. As it's a common MGB part, maybe Tony would have one lying around.
You could also post over in the MG forum.
Glad I got to meet you, and was able to be a little help.
Jeff

spill the beans! this dizzy have any special attibute when combined with a 1500? better advance curve?

Beats the heck out of me. Jeff took the Mallory out because only one of the 2 points were working, put in one of his and solved the final problem with the ignition. Jeff is loaning me his out of one of his projects till I get my own. Beats the Mallory hands down and he told me it's better than the original ones that came in the 1500s.

Boy it's nice you guys are close enough to tell each other lies from time to time.

LOL!

It may be cheaper/better/easier to get a Pertronix Ignitor for your Mallory. That will eliminate the prob with the points not pointing anyway.

The problem with electronics is they have a nasty habit of failing. At least with points, I can fix the problem on the side of the road and be on my way. I'll stick with points.

58 miles, door to door, Jack.
And there was beer left when I went home. We were saving it for you!

Does anybody have any experience w/ distributors from NAPA. They have one very similar to the Lucas 45d. It's NAPA part# NRD 48400. Problem is the cap uses internal mounted wires. Cap, Rotor are extra. Thanks.

BTW: My mom in law came over. She visited w/ my wife and I. Sorry Jack, no more beer.

Ahhh shucks. LOL

A local club member referred me to Jeff at Advanced Distributors. I emailed him and I purchased a complete, rebuilt 43d4 Distributor w/o vacuum advance with cap, rotor for $156. He takes paypal and asks what kind of vehicle it will be in and it's usage. The club member says his work is solid. Thanks for the help!
