Looking for a researcher

Hello, Healeyphiles -

I have been keeping the BJ8 Registry since 1998, and have been very fortunate to make the acquaintance of several assistants around the world who understand the benefits to the Healey and BJ8 communities, believe in the goals of the registry, and are willing to help. One very valuable one has been someone who lives near Gaydon, England where the BMIHT museum and archives are located. As you may know, it is possible (with prior arrangement with the BMIHT staff) to do research in the archives personally and for no fee. Since 2003, he has been making periodic (several times a year) trips to the archives to research BJ8 original manufacturing data for me based on lists of cars, body numbers, and engine numbers I have provided him. Via this source, the registry has been able to build a database (currently including more than 51% of total BJ8 production) that includes BMIHT data for thousands of BJ8s, as well as to identify the original cars for "orphan" BJ8 parts or those now installed in other cars.
Most unfortunately for him, and for the registry, he has developed some serious health issues and may or may not be able to continue his support.
I am hoping that there is another kind soul out there who lives within reasonable distance of Gaydon that might be willing to continue the research -- on a periodic, occasional, or even one-time basis. Anyone who is interested in more information about this effort is welcome to contact me directly at sbyers@ec.rr.com.

Thanks!
