I am looking for a well prepared car for historic rallyes.
I live in France so ideally something viewable in Europe.
Wants....Cortina GT, Anglia,Escort but it really should be a British saloon as I am more conversant
Thanks

Curtis

You might try at the Historic Rally Car Register. It is based in England but seems to have a lot of activity (tours mostly) on the continent.

Thanks for that.
I have tried their site and there are no cars for sale.
I think there is a members mag.
Have got my eye on an Escort Twin Cam at the moment.
I used to rallye one in the seventies and I have some good memories.
Have attached a pic of me in action !!

Can anyone tell me some of the points to look out for to make sure it is a "real" Twin Cam ? I have already started to check out chassis plate etc, biut I'm thinking of visible signs in body strenghtening etc

Have chatted with some "experts" and it seems that the car I am looking at is original, but is now LHD when it was built RHD. That's disappointing. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif I may not now be taking a trip to Spain. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Still any other european contributors that hear of something similar please let me know. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Change of plan I am off to Spain to look at this car.
Taking trailer and cash with me. Hope I can be strong enough to say NO if necessary!
Here is a pic.

Who! Way Cool!
If you want to bring it over to the Western U.S.,
I can store it (& drive it periodcly for you),if you
buy it.

Well, the deal was done and the car is back home in France.
Sadly the master cylinder failed and I can't drive it for the moment!!!
Waiting for the bits to come from England.
All ready entered for a rallye in the mountains in Eastern France.
More news later.
