If the B sells, I like this! Acroduster. My wife tells me I'm going through my second childhood! They just have no sense of humor.

Or this, Starduster,

Go for it! You are a very lucky man!

If I had a few extra ducats, here's what I'd be looking at:

I'd prefer any ONE of these...

I'd be afraid to have a cup of coffee while flying for fear of upsetting the CG :nightmare:

I want to know where you can buy any oneof these with the proceeds of an MGB - even a pristine one. Or does the box say Revell or Monogram?

Well course you don't know JP.
You have a Midget
If you could afford a B then you would be in that company :highly_amused:

How 'bout this *non* photoshop B-17. Note only one engine turning.

:highly_amused: Ha ha, No JP, the proceeds from the sale of the B might pay for an engine overhaul, but that's about it! I just have to get rid of a bunch of stuff. I have a truck load of B parts that has to go also, including engines, transmissions, front end, rear. I'll sell the whole load cheap, but they have to take the whole lot! It won't fit in a pickup! The wife doesn't want the car anymore, she never drives it. I even have a lot of antique house hold furniture etc, including antique car parts that's just taking up space in my shop and has to go. I want to clean out the barn before I get involved in something else. I've been flying for a few years. I just received notice that I get a 50 year award from the FAA next May for holding a license for 50 years and 50 years of accident free flying. I think it's needless to say, flying has always been number one to me over cars. PJ

Tom, the Ercoupe, as in your photo, is an aircraft that has been very underrated over the years for it's strength and durability, aside from the fact it's one of the easiest aircraft to fly ever invented. They had no rudder pedals as the rudders were incorporated in with the aileron controls. Some have been converted with rudder pedals. The aircraft is very cheap on the price scale and an excellent entry aircraft. I almost bought one once. PJ

What is it with you guys? Next it will be trains instead of cars and planes.

A friend of mine just showed me a picture of her husband's latest purchase....a plane...that he now has hanging from the ceiling in his man cave car museum. Before you ask...he collects American Iron (Chevy types) so he has a pretty big garage. They actually got the old thing running and drove it around before hanging it.

I actually think I am jealous that you are flying and getting a plane.....

Cheers,
Irene

Big things that move, a couple hours from here there is a guy into steam in a big way - he has at least one steam shovel in the yard, and a locomotive in the garage! - with just enough track to get out onto the driveway.

No props on gliders (except when you take-off :rolleye: )

I love gliders Elliot, it's just that the towing fees are getting out of sight at some places. Fuel costs at 5 to 7 bucks a gallon and higher maintenance fees are getting ridicules. 40 to 50 bucks a tow gets expensive at the end of the day. I'm fortunate to have an A&E in the family, so annuals and maintenance fees are in the ball park for me. I just pay for parts. PJ

I guess it's all relative Paul... I don't play golf but I bet paying for a round + cart + lunch is pretty close to what soaring cost for a couple of hours of entertainment.

Elliot, here's the difference: if you choose the round of golf and lunch, you don't have to own the course and rent the restaurant.
