I'm a new member and have had a couple British cars and enjoyed them very much. I've been trying locate a 1961 Healey that I owned for many years and thought you folks could help me locate it if it still exists. I bought it in 1961 in Culver City, Calif. and sold it to a car museum in Denver in 1975. I believe they sold it to a gentleman(Richard Wright)from Austin, Tx. Then it went to Springfield, Ill. and was licensed there in 1996. I did a title search for it but the Vehicle Services Dept. wouldn't release any personal information. So thats as far as I got trying locate it. The car was white with red interior and the VIN # is 61HBT7L9168. Is there any possible way you could help me find the car and put me in touch with the current owner. I just loved the car and have many fond memories of my ownership. It was very reliable and very fun to drive-even my kids remember riding around in the back seats and they loved the sound of it. This one of the cars I should have kept.

Thanks for any help-Roger B.

Sounds like a great car, sure will keep my eyes open.
Good Luck.

HI Roger,
You might try the registry for your model. Here is a link to Austin Healey Club USA that lists all the registry contacts. You may have to be patient, it isn't a paying job.

Roger,

I would contact the National Clubs(Austin Healey). They will have registries for all of the models. They may not be able to share the info with you but you never know until you ask.

Regards,
Larry

Roger - To bad you are not looking for a 1960 BT7. Last week at the Hershey AACA 2009 Fall meet there was a very nice original ivory white BT7 with red interior and factory hard top for sale. Included was the complete tool kit and battery cover. The car has only 13,900 miles on it and looks great. the asking price is $74,900/OBO.
If you are interested? I can send you some photos.
Best of luck with your search
