Looking for a 1275???

Welcome to the Forum Roger!
I've been where you are. So if you are interested I can can send you a 1275 "short block", the only catch is; I'm in Los Angeles. The only expense you would be liable for is the pure cost of shipping, to include proper crating of the engine. I bought this a couple of years ago from an MG Car Club member in San Diego but ended up using a different 1275 for my ongoing Bugeye project. The short block consists of: the block, crank (20/20), camshaft, oil pump, pistons&rods and timing gears. There may be a few other bits but I'm at work so can't run out to the garage right now! OH - The bearings for the crank&rods are new as are the piston rings.
You could use the head, engine plates etc. off of the engine you have and then do a wicked rebuild on it as time and $$$ permit.
To ALL: Roger has first dibs if he wants the engine, if not it is available to any other Forum member at the same "price" - I much prefer someone get it that will put it to use and not just to resell.....
Roy

Thanks Roy - just for being part of the forum - that's why I love it here!

Ain't that the truth.

Really!!!! You have no idea how appreciative I am. That's is very generous of you. I wish I was closer so I could give you hand with something in return. If you're ever in the Mass area and are looking for a free dinner and brew you know where to find me. I am definitely interested are you kidding!
I'll send you a PM and we can hash out the details. I love this forum you guys are great.

Four posts and you're in high cotton!

Many of us here have benefited from others generosity, and most all of us have "paid it forward" or intend to.

Ain't that the truth. One kind lister from this thread bailed me out with a front corner light so I could get my car on the road last summer. I turned around and sent an exhaust mani to a fellow from California who had to deal with emissions laws... Nice to help out when you can! Particularly when it's something that's just sitting around in the garage, collecting dust!

Thank you all for the kind words! I just spoke with Roger and I will be checking shipping cost options and see what that will run - if for some reason the engine doesn't go to Roger I will get back to you that left me PM's about it.
It's always a good feeling to help others and this was such a natural. It is truly "paying it forward" as one of you said and I am very happy about that!
Yep, this is such a great formum and wonderful people. I don't write as much as some but I always read and enjoy (LOL a lot!!!) - some really good authors here! Like most, I have learned SO much and the enthusiasm for our wonderful little machines is enormous.
Roy  :driving:

I've shipped engines to CA from AL...with me building the box around it on a pallet they generally cost $185 or so via truck freight.

Roger / Roy: If you need at business address with a loading dock / forklift to save on shipping PM me. Zip would be 02169
