MGB Looking at this MGB

I dunno - I've never checked gas mileage in an MG - do it all the time in my 'regular' cars but not my MG's, sorry....

hmmm... I've seen one article where a shop converted an MG to a Weber 32/36 DGV and they claimed 32'ish MPG on the freeway. We had a thread running a couple of months ago to get a feeling for the average gas mileage of MGs... I've seen the mileage run from my dismally low 18-19MPG (Zenith equipped '76 B) all the way up to 40MPG on a twin SU setup... with most people falling into the upper 20s to lower 30s. I think at least one person had a Weber of some sort.

Here's one thread on the topic:
SU versus Weber Gas Mileage

Here's another:
Late Model MGB GT gas mileage

Ahem..."of some sort"?!? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif

40-DCOE. Low to mid 20's "in-town" (loud pedal joy), and low to mid 30's "highway".

well... you know... not everyone goes for the dcoe... I think the threads I linked has 32/36s, 38/38s, and even the DCOEs.

After rereading the threads I'm coming to the line of thought that you can pretty much develop as much fuel economy as you like with just about any carb choice... obviously some configurations are better at some tasks than others... and the intake/exhaust manifold plays a larger part in the fuel economy/power development than the actual carb used... This is assuming all components functioning properly... Then again, there are so many variables that just seeing someone's reported fuel economy doesn't really give the full picture on what kind of power they're getting... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Roger that. "All-of-a-piece."

It's that "system" thingie again.
