Hello, I am about to look at a 1988 Jaguar XJ-S. It apperently has 96k miles, but I just want to make sure by getting a carfax. Does anyone have a subscription to carfax?

The VIN is: SAJNA5845JC141901

My e-mail is: gradyhowell@gmail.com

any tips?

Thanks everyone!

FYI The mileage does not matter so much, but evidence of maintenance does. Any XJS should come with a fat file of at least parts reciepts proving that the car has been cared for. I hope that you can test drive the car before you buy, and if so, check that the car does not run hot. By running hot I mean that the guage should stay on the N or below. Above the N, no matter how much, is cause for concern. All that being said, the cars are great, and it is not unreasonable to expect 200K without major repairs. They take a lot of preventative maintenance, and you can almost assume that you will start out behind the curve on that. Once caught up, the car should not need much more than that.
