Once I finish my TR4A, I will be stripping down my wife's Stag and fixing it up. Currently it has a GM V6 w/TH350 auto tranny. I'm curious if anyone knows if the Rover V8 will bolt up to the TH350 ... I'm considering putting a fuel-injected version into the Stag if I don't have to source a new tranny. I do have a spare 700R4 sitting in the garage if anyone knows if that would work.

Inquiring minds want to know ... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Here's some links to do start your research with.

I ran the orig 3.5 in my '88 Rangie until it slipped a piston liner. Swapped out to a brand new 4.0 litre block & worked my heads with a mild cam. Still not that much power for a 6000lb truck.

Be careful on used engines, they had some issues, esp the early ones had very poor top end lub problems. If the thing oveheats it is very likely it is a slipped sleeve which is very costly to repair.

Look at the MG site with the Rover & T5 tranny from a Camaro.

Woody at the Wedge shop would be of great asssitance.

Thanks for the info, time to start researching (like I don't already have enough irons in the fire!) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif
