Jack - he said that's how mine moved quicker...all he had to do was remove the fenders & running boards...treat the car for surface rust, prime & spray....said he spent more time putting it back together than prepping it for paint.
& I handed him all new weatherstripping & all new brightwork (to include running boards & bumpers) so everything came out of a box to go on the new paint.
Upholstery guy got all new everything for the interior - down to interior door pulls & clips to hold panels.
No, this one will stay completely stock - even down to the "radio delete" plug on front where antenna would've gone & no cut out in for radio in dash...only has 57,000 one owner, little old lady (my mother-in-law) miles!
Interior's bone stock & all original - today....just took it to the upholstery shop for new headliner, panels, seats, carpet/floor mats....I'll take photos when that's finished (but, you're right, I need to go over & take 'before' pics)
SWMBO has "liberated" our digicam... That's why I've put up no new happy-snaps. I hardly get to see it anymore!
I'll hafta break out th' ol' Spitzgrummish Agamemnon with th' f64 Optik... and then find my 5x7 sheet film holders. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

looks great ... owned three when i was young (er) ... 63, 65, and 68. the 68 was an "automatic stick" with a torque converter. what a nightmare. anyway besides the 68, they were great cars. i can't say which rust worse ah sprites or vw beetles.
.
i remember being stuck in a parking lot at pennstate with a car full of friends trying to back out of a parking spot. it took almost 5 minutes before the car began to move. dang torque coverter. anyway .. looks great .. i'm sure jacks happy too!
