These guys are local, and the car is much better than it looks, and I have a motor. But this wasn't exactly planned....

Nice catch. Lots of room for improvement there. Will keep you out of the bars.

Nice, Tony is looking for one of them.

I always loved the door handles on the coupes.

I commented on the TR forum, it looks good.I forgot to ask,the ID plate is missing, did you get it and a title,or one or the other?

ID plate is forthcoming. Title is going to be a hassle I think.

I was warned going in - so dealer was above board.

Ah, must've been beyond the distance I look...I do all my ebay searches 'distance nearest first'

Yep - that would do it. The selling dealer is 5 miles from me, so logistics are pretty favorable.

So let me ask - any thoughts on my using a 1968 MGB-GT as a donor vehicle for engine and transmission?

No sacrilege. The B motor will go in not much problem. The B trans is another thing though. I have done several of these trans plants. To late to go into it now.Its a good conversion.

In a regular MGA maybe...however, IMHO, not in a coupe, please.....

The original transmission seems OK, so maybe I should just be planning on the motor transplant then. Thanks for the coaching guys....
