Look what I found, an article on our very own

Hi Jolly, very nice, take a bow.

Great job, j-r.

I was an auto-shop teacher for 9 years. We built two Formula Vees, a Pro-Rally car and other stuff. See here:

Some of my college kids are active in our Club Races , but I miss being able to build the car projects with the kids (we do other projects like FIRST Robotics).

Anyway, good stuff!

While we are on the subject( This is not a political stab just a note on funding automotive education programs) the Bush administration has made it clear in it's latest budget, that they want to pull all funding from classes such as mine and move the money to college pell grants. They believe that all kids are going to college. No child left behind...unless you are not going to college then you don't count.
I have a number of students who disagree. They are installing an engine in a A-40 and they are designing and building a full-sized solar powered car for the Dell-Winston Challenge. It is an international competition for high school aged kids.( we are looking for sponsors to help defray the $6000 cost of the car)
Please see the Dell-Winston Challenge on the web. Way cool. It was started by a school for dyslexic kids to hone their engineering and physics skills.
