Look What Appeared in My Drive Today

A friend of mine has been working on this for over a year & took it out for its maiden drive today....its a real eye catcher.....its built entirely from an old MG that wasn't worth restoring along with some old parts from here & there. Tows ncely & backs up without any problems...he's gonna adjust the tongue so it sits a bit more level but he's now down to minor modifications.

I'm disassembling a rusty old GT & he came by to get the old gas tank (couple of holes in the bottom)...his next plan (after he finishes the custom tonneau) is to turn the gas tank into an insulated cooler....open the trunk lid, raise the hinged top of the gas tank & grab a cool one!

This shows nice body work and is a great idea, but what puzzles me is, why the rubber rear bumper and chrome on the front, especially pulling with a CB car and with what appears to be excellent body work, why leave the tail lights on the front? It would have looked nicer, in my opinion, if he had gotten rid of the front bumper, streamlined the valance area and formed the front tail lights out of steel in the shape of the older style lenses. The dummy tail pipe would have to go also. JMHO. PJ

The blue one looks very cool - I really like it.

The green one is more of a head turner IMHO - looks like he made the best from what he had. Like he fused a RB & a CB rear end together. Why he chose to put the RB in back & the CB in front, who knows? That's half the fun of things like that, just do what you feel like doing.

Weight? Though John told me the reason his spare tire is out front on the tongue is for better weight distribution (that & its a good place to mount his big umbrella when he's at shows)

It looks to me like a couple of folks can sit on the front of that trailer for homecomming events and such. Heh, keeps em off the car.

I was thinking that too....add some seat belts to the trailer and off you go...! Well maybe only to the end of the driveway! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Go for it, Steve!
