On another Longbridge note....I am about to fabricate (have fabricated) the passenger side chrome door locking lever and pin. Anyone need a set? Not sure of pricing yet, but taking orders...

Andy,
How did you find that thread? Any idea as to if the MG TD lever is available anywhere? If not, I could make some for that crowd too....

I have OCD and Google is my friend...

None of the repro latches have the lever but they do have the boss for it. Somebody on the MG board is bound to know if they are available/in demand.

My latch lever does nothing useful if you are hoping to actually use it, the outer handle is stiffer to pull with it in the lock position but that is all. Andy.

Andy - Did your latch assembly come from your car. I bought the replacement assembly from Moss and inserted the original lever from my Longbridge and it worked perfectly jim:driving:

Jim- yes it is the original lever now put onto a repro latch. It didn't work on the original either. Kind of works but pulling hard on the outer door handle is enough to overcome its usefulness.

My steering wheel is on the right side so to unlock the car is a circus of pull on the door handle and then remember it is locked, walk around to passenger side and open the door with the key, climb across and fumble inside the drivers door for the lever, extract self from car, walk back around to drivers side.

I'm ok with it not working.

Andy.

Andy,
Wouldn't it be easier to just slide open (or break) the sidescreen and reach down to flip the lever?....just like the thieves do.:devilgrin::devilgrin:
