Interesting and easy to do MOD
it also finish well the ends of cockpit trim on longbridge
anyone applied it? I am care about the door aluminium trim conflict
Cheers
Andrea - I have not tried it, But I do have a question of your first photo. What information do you have about it? It appears to be an Ivory exterior with a red interior with cream piping. According to the Concours Guide for 2012, this piping on the door shut pillar should be cream and not black as shown in the photo. Do you have any informatioon you can share about this question.
as always, thanks for the great photos for those of us with the Longbridge BN4
Hi Jim
this is the only other photo of the MOD that I have find
from 100 Six Derek site https://www.healeysix.net/Longbridge2.htm photos are from Rich Chrisler, and here I have find a 3rd car with this mod
NOTE on my previos thread car are TWO, one white and one black- on the third photo the car are black with black pipe(the light on the photo mix up)
the presence of the MOD on a 3rd car reveal tha this mod was extensively used on 100 six Longbridge cars
Cheers
Hi Andy
No problem at the moment,
BUT the reason is that my car never are ON THE ROAD again and yes I have also the HTop
and my zone in Italy are subject to heavy rain in Springtime and Fall
so i am interested in this MOD-
my project is to make one aluminium prototype
and then a stainless steel couple
Cheers
Andrea - put me on the list for a set of these after they are made, so my hardtop will be complete. It is due for a new paint job, since I painted it over 25 years ago.
Andrea- your car is looking in very much the same stage as mine right now. I also have a hardtop that was purchased by the first owner around 1960, three or so years after he bought the car. I'll be interested in your mod too. Andy.

Here my prototype, I have decided to work with copper, malleable and easy to chrome and the sketch
one more useful photo fro rear
for few days I have no access to the doors, Mauro works on them
so I haven't full tested the piece but appear to be good
Cheers
Hi Jim
Work in progress(same prototype development) simply painted white primer and chrome sprayed
in situ-
NOW I must test the door look- and the definition of the lip that is screwed to the Door Dust Seal- and conflicts with aluminium door covers
Cheers
More progress but NOT definitive, with same prototype
NOW one new prototype can be developed:
a)the under screwing lip is in good position to be screwed with the same screw that fasten the Door dust seal
b)the hole for upper screw ( to cockpit aluminium and fender)can be positioned
c)the gap from fender must be better covered- and black vinyl seal junction join up
Here the 2nd prototype draft with measurements, in mmRH or LH side depends from the face worked
and the cut of the same, precision is NOT needed
after the hammer and gridding work, the RH prototype is ready- difficult is to make the TWO pieces RH and LH equals
not a lot of work just few minutes with hammer on a hard wood piece-
cooper is easy to work and to chrome or also silver plated
NOTE: my measurement can be different for your cars- i have one obscure GAP of 2mm from my shroud and cockpit trim aluminum at RH and LH side-
SO my measurement 25mm can be more large, than normal cars and 23mm can be the right measure
Cheers
NEWs from the MOD prototype -after, I have finished my rear panels. I am noticed that there are not space from my aluminium trim on the door and the finisher plate ( I have hammered (gently)it to permit to my doors will be opened and closed) so the prototype is in front of me, waiting a solution
