Hello, I'm Steve, I've had my 78 Spitfire since June of 1988, It was meant to be a graduation gift/father son project. We did some work on it over the following few years, took it to some shows in the Chicago suburbs into the early 90's. I had purchased a Chevelle, then a Mustang so the Spit took a back seat and was last driven in 1998. Life took other directions and I moved around quite a bit, Dad passed in 07, but I kept the car. I'm now in Kansas. Anyway, over the last couple years I've been watching it deteriorate. I was out on a date night with the wife a few weeks ago and by happenstance bumped into a meetup for the local British Car Club. I have a renewed desire to not only get this old girl back on the road but to complete the vision my father and I had for this car 34 years ago.

Welcome to the forum.

The Triumph section is very active so you are sure to get plenty of tips and advie as you get your Spitfire back on the road. In the photo it looks like it is in good condition.

Thanks for the welcome.
It's been sitting outside uncovered for the last 7 years, so its a bit rougher from when this picture was taken/ Add to that where I had it stored some kids poked a bunch of holes in the top and the back window.
I put new tires on it last weekend and was able to make enough space to get it inside.
