Long time since I've been here but progress has started. Bugeye rebuild

Just tucked it in for the winter after paint. Hoping to have engine ready to go in the next couple of weeks. I'm sure there will be a few issues. Putting in a 1275. I'll be taking a lot of pics and will probably have many questions along the way

Working on pics.

I'm one of the others working on a bugeye restoration. It looks like you're a little further along than Drew or me. Keep the pictures coming; I'm looking forward to sharing tips and ideas with everyone if I ever get my car back from the bodyshop.

Just dropped In the engine. This one won't be staying in there it was a known running engine. Now the fun. Wiring this will now be when I have to figure out all of the conversions from Benny to alt tach face swap and all the other fun stuff.

Anyone has has any advice let me know which way would be best. I have plenty of be and sprite wiring harness to choose from.

I would suggest keeping the rusty BE together for a wiring reference. The tach drive gen works fine on a 1275 as well.

Is the genny going to keep up with running a radio etc... Reading through posts it seems like the alt swap seems to be the way to go. I have both and gauges to swap so either way I can do. But if the genny will keep up ill use that. The other be has the alternator in it already. I used a 74 wiring harness in that car. Just don't have the dash stuff figured out.

I would think no problem for the radio but radio, fan, lights at low speed's around town might not work out. But you would have a tach without having to make up a electric or switch to non original.
