ok I got the jag back after its extended holiday. (i came back on the train)
but it pulls to the Left on heavy brakeing.
oh and some times the brakes are staying on and I have to give it a tap to free up.

any ideas? where to look first? not that im going to drive much before winter, which should start any time now.

I did losen the hand brake adustment to get it home from the shop... 5 hours south in otta. it was quite a drive back. and about 5 miles from home a tractor pulled in front of me hence the heavy braking.

Could be flex hoses causing everything and needing replaced. Could also be a sticking caliper on the r/h front side causing the pull to the left by not clamping the disc as hard as the l/h side. Tapping the brakes to get them to free up can also mean a master cylinder with a weak or broken interal spring or a pedal pivot that sticks. I'd suggest checking all these things and see what faults show up.

well when i bled the brakes this summer the right fronts fluid was the the colour of cocacola mixed with guinness.
I guess i need to re bleed them and check the hand break on the back

remind me please do I start with the closest wheel to the master cylender and work away or vice versa?

steve

Definitely vice versa. Furthest first then work up to the front. Sounds like you need a good flush too.

well when the claiper ripped off last month I think most of the old exited the system.
get those bolts tight guys.
im buying air tools next spring thats for sure.

I'd suggest a torque wrench instead.

I agree, air wrenches are for brute force and speed to disassemble. I use my air wrenches to snug up bolts and the torque wrench to finish up.

ok good point
I have a freind of mines for now but when he takes it back Ill make sure to get my own.

still have the head to redo on the healey before winter.
