Can anyone help me find one of the twin bore Lockheed master cylinder for a TR2? I know reproductions are available but I want an original type for rebuilding.

Thank you!

Dan

As I guess you have figured out, the originals only had 4 screws on the cover and leaked badly...so most were tossed for the 5 screw repro's. They appear on ebay every now and then, in rather poor shape. This thread is what I went through a couple years ago. Marv provided the MC, and I sent it off to be rebuilt. I had to send it as the bores were pitted and needed sleeves. You'll see in the thread that I even scoped local machine shops to do the sleeves, but they wanted more than the rebuilders wanted just to set up. Count on any MC you find needing to be sleeved, unless it's already been done.

Rebuild kits are getting harder to locate too. If you find one, best to grab it in prep for your rebuild. Even the rebuilders can't get them, so they will use yours, and scrounge other parts.
