I am about to change the trans oil in my BN-2, but I must lift the carpet first to find the filler plug. Since the carpet is glued down it would be nice to pull up as little as possible. Looking in the owners manual etc. it does not show which side the filler is located, L or R? Any easy clues/

Right side. Feel around toward toward the front of the tunnel, not quite at the top and you may feel the oval-shaped plug through the carpeting- about 3-4" long.

Also, the carpet should not be glued to the gearbox cover. It should have a series of carpet snaps positioned about 2 1/2" up from the floor along both sides of the gearbox cover. This is obviously so you can undo the forward lower right snap and fold the carpet back on a diagonal to access the filler plug rubber grommet.
Well actually it was the insulation pad that came with the Moss carpet set that was glued in place, but the carpet was held in place by the snaps. The insulation pad actually did have a cutout around the rubber plug. It was the above info that led me to the exact location.
