Found this posting on 2 TR3 parts cars & a bunch of stuff next town over from me. Spoke to guy, sounds like maybe 1 chassis is good, other broken. I may take a ride by this weekend. Don't think I'm interested, other than to dissasemble & part out, but my space is somewhat limited.

Anyone want me to look at anything specific? I will report back my findings, maybe photos.

Guy sounds negotiable, after all winter is coming.

Check out add & let me know your thoughts.

Ow! those are pretty bad... that hurts to see that..
might be some useable stuff there, but not much.

I've got a truck and car trailer but not room for the carcasses. I just had to get rid of 1/2 of my 4A parts car to please my neighbor but had time to strip all the goodies off of it worth saving. I still have the complete front from the dash to the front valance and it still steers light and smooth but is very rusty. Anyone want the front end for free (come and get it and all you get is the front suspension and steering rack)?

Yea, they look pretty rough, I may swing by Sun if the weather clears, turns out my wife knows the guy, I think he owns some kind of machine shop, what a shame he didn't at least get some decent tarps or plywood over them.

We'll I took a ride to see the pair of TR3's for sale. Very sad sight indeed. Very nice guy who bought them 15-20 yrs ago & planned on restoring, but as his machine shop buiss grew he lost the indoor storage so out they went under the tarps which disintegrated years ago. He towed them out of the woods & the green one actually split in half. I have enclosed some photos I took. Pretty bad, but some of the hard parts rear/od tranny, rad & 3 of the doors are prob decent, looks like the one steering wheel is ok. He basically needs to get these out of his yard before the snow flies so he is negotiable, but that is between you & him.

Here are some of the photos I took.

If I had a 3 & some property I'd take them & strip off what was good.

Awhile back, I'd be hitching my trailer to the Explorer and calling my Triumph traveling buddy to advise him of the pending road trip!

Alas, the Explorer's gone, and I've no room currently for anything more.

Did you happen to get any commission, body or engine numbers? From some signs I see, I'm wondering if the light blue one (the one with the front bumper and still mostly a one-piece car) might just be a TR3B or a very, very late 3A?

You'd probably have to take all or none but still maybe a few good parts. The engines look pretty rusty.

Re: Local TR3 parts cars for sale-MA More info

sorry, didn't spend that much time getting a close look like comm #'s, I did think about it though.

Contact him through craig's list, he doesn't do the computer thing that much, he had a friend - car guy post for him, so probably better to call him. His machine shop is not 50' from the cars, so he may be able to step outside & get the info you want.

I spent an hour talking to him, semi-retired machinist for small parts, has a Cadcam, etc small 1 man shop now, but I can only imagine what type of work someone with machine shop skills has in doing a resto. Wish I had some of his skills, he showed me some of his work. He said to feel free calling him if I need anything made up for my 250; I just may take him up on it.

The nose that was off the bad green car looked to be in pretty good shape actually.

I would say make him an offer, he would rather see it go to a TR guy than the junk yard.

I think Andrew is right about the blue one. under hood frame work, smooth lettering, and what looks to be a TR4 engine. Comm# plate is missing. Wow rough cars, but still some usable stuff.

Re: Local TR3 parts cars for sale-MA More info

How much more interest if blue car is a 3B? I could call him.

Re: Local TR3 parts cars for sale-MA More info

Sadly, only a TR3 "Beta" would fire me up at this point (as soon as the house sold, that is)! But 3Bs are definitely worth a premium over other TR3As, especially if the "numbers match" throughout.

For a number of years, I had a 3B that had been wrecked, stripped and then abandoned long before I got hold of it. It was still a very restorable car, but I couldn't hang onto it, especially after the offer a friend made me for it!
