Quiet time this morning, and remembering living on my granddad's dairy farm back when my dad was overseas in WWII and thinking back for one thing, us kids drank milk right from the cows before any processing was done. The only processing was separating the cream from some of the milk for butter and what was left was used for butter milk. Granddad's cows were fed homegrown grain from the fields and Silage from the silos mixed with molasses. He never used insecticides on anything grown in the fields. The point is, all of us kids never got sick from drinking raw milk or eating anything on the farm! Today is another story with the ENRICHED feed fed to the cows and insecticides sprayed on everything. I wouldn't drink milk today without being pasteurized/homogenized. A lot of food products today are highly questionable, just read the ingredients on the packages. Sorry for the rant, I just wish we could go back a few years, I loved the 40s and 50s!
