Little Excitement This Morning

Arriving at the church at 6:15 to setup for our morning service, I noticed (still dark, mind you) that a large window of the basement was broken. Called the police, who arrived in 5-6 MINUTES, and they did a proper search. No one to be found and nothing missing. Evidently, one of the many homeless in the area needed a warm spot to sleep. The door next to that window was closed, but unlocked. It's always locked, so I'm sure he/she left through the door before I got here.

Kudos to the Clarksville police. We've got some great folks on the force here.

And I guess we need to add a motion detector to the basement area... After I board up the huge hole!

Sorry to hear about the damage, at least nothing was missing and everyone was safe.

My dad used to leave the main doors of the church unlocked (offices and such were locked, though). An advantage of the fact that we were out in the boonies.

At least all he did was stay warm!

Check in the darker corners...

Boy, this thread took a turn!

WOOSH!!! "Left turn, Clyde!"

Better'n discussin' pew poo!!

Nah, there's bathrooms in the basement of Mickey's church....guy might've even gotten a shower while he was there!

Let's hope he did get a shower, some rest, and a little warmth. Let's hope he comes back by the front door and will accept forgiveness as well.

My old catholic church got hit for the chalice and other gold objects years ago.

Forgiveness for what, not freezin' t' death????

The above said church door was always unlocked for such reasons......till they got popped for th' goodies.

Had a buddy's dad shoot himself in the head in front the church one night. Wonder if he'a not dunnit iff'un the door was unlocked.

Never know who really needs to get in sometimes.

I like "open door" church policy.

Don't know iff'un that's possible now'a'days.

We all need forgiveness and can have it if we will accept it. I like open door church policies myself. Should that change because the world has gone mad? I will stop there at the risk of violating the bcf policy on religion and politics.

It's a matter of humanity for Western philosophy... Otherwise it's survival of th' smartest.

We learn and survive or we ignore and die.

Simple.
